Full Job Description

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will contribute to the development, integration, and implementation of the New Glenn operational architecture. Operations Architecture is the bridge between design, integrated test, launch operations, and flight. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the New Glenn System—spanning CONOPS, functional architecture, components, software, and system-level interactions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own the system level operational timeline for assigned phases, identify critical path and timeline drivers, inter-element constraints, and items that limits launch cadence in support of launch cadence planning.
  • Decompose the operational concepts for assigned New Glenn operations into detailed time-phased Sequences of Operations.
  • Drive system level trades and issues to closure.
  • Author operations documents that define operational constraints, testing requirements, operations lifecycle, and maintenance requirements.
  • Define the roadmap to high rate operations for assigned operational phases.
  • Provide real-time on-console support for integrated tests, launch, and recovery operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in Aerospace or large scale processing systems
  • Experience in at least one of the areas of analysis, design, or integrated testing.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with system engineering principles.
  • Experience in at least one of focused subject area of fluids, mechanical hardware, thermal, propulsion, avionics or electrical hardware and/or software, telemetry/communications, structures, ground operations or flight/ground autonomy.
  • System development/integration experience – preferably with aerospace systems.
  • Experience with flight systems.
  • Knowledge of current systems/project engineering and integration tools and methodologies.
  • Experience with large scale mechanical system design / operations
