DIRECT REPORTSThe incumbent manages the Team Managers who oversee their respective regions in Northern California and may also manage those later added to the Washington C&I lending team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Develops an annual business plan of new loan growth, both commitments and outstanding, as well as setting targets for deposit growth and fee generation for the entire team.
- Discuss the annual goals with management and communicate them to the individual staff on the team responsible for loan and/or deposit growth.
- Manages existing loan portfolios to track the performance of the credit and monitor borrower's compliance with covenants and be able to make specific risk rating recommendations.
- Maintain and grow the existing client base with multiple loan and deposit products.
- Review and edit all loan presentations before submitting them to Credit Administration.
- Oversee operational and risk management activities to ensure the highest level of client service and operating efficiencies and compliance with Bank, regulatory and credit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all internal operating policies, procedures and audit standards.
- Maintain a highly motivated and qualified division of staff through selection, placement, training, counseling and promotion of people to achieve optimal team performance.
- Provide effective and engaging leadership to the staff of Loan Officers and Loan Assistants, offering clear goals and a defined career vision.
- Actively participates in business community activities, including attending business functions and networking events where new business opportunity is possible or deepening an existing relationship is the goal.
QUALIFICATIONS- Education: College degree in business-related discipline preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of commercial lending experience with at least 3-5 years of management experience.
- Skills/Ability: PC proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English/Mandarin or Cantonese) is desirable but not required. Excellent credit knowledge of Bank's credit underwriting policies and approval process for assigned loan. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high production environment. Strong business development skills. Strong financial analysis and accounting skills. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and delegate. Ability to exercise sound judgment.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
