Hours: 5x8hr shifts Mon - Fri 7am - 3:30 no weekends, holiday or call
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Surgical Tech II for Ambulatory Surgery Center assists with the nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Assists surgeons in the operating Room by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies. Performs job functions according to specific patient age and/or developmental needs. Works under the supervision of the circulating RN in the operating room suite. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is a 3 surgical operating room and 1 procedure room ambulatory unit that provides scheduled outpatient surgical and procedural care to children who undergo general anesthesia for operative or other invasive procedures. The ASC is designed for same-day surgery, allowing patients to safely recover and be discharged home following their procedures without inpatient admission. The ASC operates during designated hours and emphasizes efficient, high-quality, family-centered outpatient care. Specialty services include Anesthesiology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Dentistry, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, General Pediatric Surgery, Hematology/Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, and Urology.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 2+ years' Operating Room experience in a variety of surgical specialties. Communicate effectively and tactfully with patients.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Completion of Operating room Technician Training Course or equivalent. Current BLS from American Heart Association.
Pay Scale Information
$69,118.40-$92,144.00
