Summary: Performs advanced imaging and interventional support procedures for cardiovascular surgical cases in a hybrid operating room environment. Operates specialized imaging equipment to support procedural navigation and treatment while ensuring high-quality imaging, equipment performance, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities:- Assists surgeons with cardiovascular interventional and hybrid procedures by operating advanced imaging equipment (e.g., fixed C-arm) and supporting fusion imaging, road mapping, and 3D reconstruction; evaluates image quality and resolves technical issues.
- Prepares procedural rooms, equipment, and patients for vascular procedures, including positioning and site preparation; administers contrast media within scope of practice and provides basic procedural instruction.
- Ensures proper setup, testing, and functionality of imaging equipment; troubleshoots technical issues, coordinates vendor support, and manages specialized device inventory.
- Maintains radiation and procedural safety standards, sterile technique, and equipment quality control; documents procedures and supports efficient workflow in the hybrid OR environment.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or Cardiovascular Interventional Technology program.
- Licensure/Certification: Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
- Minimum Experience: 2 years of experience in interventional radiology, vascular surgery or hybrid OR environment of advanced imaging and procedural support Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Preferred: Advanced certification (ARRT-VI or equivalent relevant vascular/interventional credential.)
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
