SUPPLY CHAIN FINANCE MANAGER (AEROSPACE)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Pay Range: $125,000 - $165,000 +/-

POSITION SUMMARY:
  • This position requires knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense industry and the ability to develop and execute cost and financial strategies to optimize supply chain performance, manage risk, and ensure compliance with stringent government regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and
  • Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). The role involves significant collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to align financial goals with operational and program objectives.
  • The Supply Chain Finance Manager serves as a strategic business partner to Supply Chain, Operations, Program Management, and Finance leadership, providing financial oversight and analytical support across procurement, inventory management, supplier performance, and working capital optimization initiatives.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Planning & Analysis:

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes for supply chain operations across both direct and indirect procurement functions. Monitor performance against established metrics and KPIs, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management.

Cost Management & Optimization:

Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements utilizing Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. Develop and maintain costing models to effectively identify, analyze, and manage costs across the supply chain, including supplier pricing, transportation, logistics, and inventory management.

Inventory & Working Capital Management:

Partner with Operations, Program Management, and Finance teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, reduce obsolescence risk, and improve working capital performance. Support cash flow planning and resource allocation for procurement and supply chain operations.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all financial and cost activities comply with applicable defense regulations, including TINA, CPSR, FAR, DFARS, and related public laws. Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain risks, including supplier disruptions, geopolitical concerns, and material shortages.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:

Prepare detailed financial analyses, dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal leadership teams and external stakeholders, including government customers and auditors. Effectively communicate financial performance, risks, opportunities, and key operational metrics across engineering, program management, operations, and supply chain organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An MBA or advanced professional certification is a plus.

Background:
  • A minimum of 5-8+ years of progressive finance, supply chain finance, or operational finance experience is required.
  • Prior experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry highly preferred. Experience supporting CPSR, TINA compliance, and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives is strongly preferred.


Technical Skills:

Strong analytical, financial modeling, and quantitative skills are essential. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, including SAP, is required. Experience with SAP HANA and business intelligence platforms is highly preferred.

Procurement Regulations:

Deep understanding and practical application of Department of Defense procurement and subcontracting regulations, including FAR, DFARS, FMS, Direct Commercial, Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Firm Price Incentive (FPI), and Time & Materials (T&M) contract structures, is highly preferred.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills are required. The successful candidate will possess the ability to influence cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with senior leadership, and thrive in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment.
