Full Job Description
Objectives/Purpose of Job:

  • The Facilities and EHS+S Supervisor is responsible for leading and ensuring excellence across six critical disciplines: Safety, Facilities Maintenance, Industrial Hygiene, Property Protection, Environmental Compliance, and Sustainability. This role requires a strategic leader with strong verbal and written communication skills who can effectively influence stakeholders, drive results, and foster collaboration across all levels of the organization.


Key Activities/Responsibilities:

  • Manages the facility and maintenance functions to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable distribution operation. Develops, recommends, and administers the annual operating and capital budgets, including departmental expenses, staffing requirements, and capital equipment investments. Advises leadership on facility, equipment, infrastructure, and workforce needs required to support operational objectives, maintain service levels, and achieve business goals.


  • Partners with Operations to develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs that maximize equipment uptime and asset reliability. Leads facility-related projects including infrastructure planning, system enhancements and upgrades, procurement of equipment, parts, and contracted services, and the execution of validation and commissioning activities. Ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.


  • Leads site EHS+S compliance efforts by proactively identifying and managing risks associated with operational, facility, and process changes. Collaborate with project teams on equipment layouts, facility design, and process improvement initiatives to ensure compliance, minimize risk, and support sustainable operations. Advanced forklift certification and training. Operator observations and coaching. Utilizes strong leadership and influencing skills to drive corrective actions and strategic decisions that protect employees, facility assets, and business continuity. Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications as the dedicated owner responsible for managing the site's environmental and occupational safety management systems.


  • Manages site safety programs, including accident prevention and reporting, ergonomics, hazard communication, respiratory protection, Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, emergency evacuation, industrial hygiene monitoring, fire prevention, property conservation, traffic-flow assessments, safe equipment operation programs, incident investigation, near-miss analysis, documentation, and SDS management. Ensures regulatory compliance, maintains required records, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and promote a safe and healthy work environment.


Qualifications/Training:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred.


Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a distribution, manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing facility maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, and capital projects is highly desirable.


Special Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance/compliance management systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders without direct authority.


Specialized Knowledge and Training

  • Proficiency in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Property Protection, Environmental Compliance, Sustainability, and Facilities Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and fire protection standards.
  • Experience in risk management, emergency preparedness, incident investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
