Full Job Description
You are a seasoned Superintendent with 8+ years of field operations experience managing multi-disciplinary commercial, institutional, and light industrial construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day management of field activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. You will develop and implement project plans and schedules, uphold company safety and quality programs, and coordinate the work of field staff, contractors, trades, and project stakeholders.

Working independently with minimal supervision, you will lead site operations, proactively resolve challenges, and serve as a mentor and resource for less-experienced team members. Your leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence will support the successful execution of project objectives and contribute to the organization's continued growth and success across commercial, institutional, and light industrial sectors.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Oversee staff to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects to completion
  • Promotes the overall site safety program including subcontractor compliance with Ledcor standards, the Health Safety and Environmental Plan (HSE Plan), and all applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes
  • Ensures that field staff are equipped with the resources required to efficiently complete projects according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes
  • Actively participates in the pre-bid and preconstruction process regarding site layout, logistics, scheduling, and workforce planning
  • Review and maintain schedule, ensure milestones are met, identify scheduling issues and delays and lead solution development
  • Maintains strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients/consultants
  • Supports and promotes Ledcor's core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability and success
  • Managing hourly employees as required, including forepersons, carpenters, and labor staff


Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of construction experience in a Superintendent position
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Experience delivering ICI or commercial construction projects valued at $30 million or more
  • Previous experience working for a general contractor in the commercial construction industry.
  • Expertise in safety within the organization and knowledge of OH&S and Environmental standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work with senior management
  • Strong technical knowledge of modern construction practices, documents, drawings, schedules, technologies, equipment, industry practices and contract negotiations
