Description

Markon is seeking a Structural Engineer in support of a contract with the United States Secret Service (USSS) to advance the agency’s protective mission. The Structural Engineer will provide engineering and project support for site and building security initiatives and collaborate with multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) teams, third-party contractors, and government stakeholders. The selected candidate will support the evaluation, design review, and execution of construction and infrastructure projects intended to strengthen the security and resilience of mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and construction teams, third-party contractors, and government partners to support mission-related infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize drawings, specifications, photographs, and other technical documentation to assess and improve site and building security.
  • Review and provide technical comments on analysis, design, and construction project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with program managers to support development and updates to program strategies, schedules, budgets, and planning documentation.
  • Document and track meetings, project activities, and program updates.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support planning and execution of design and construction projects.
  • Assist in developing Scopes of Work (SOWs) and preparing contract packages for future acquisitions.
  • Support coordination with contractors, subcontractors, design teams, and owner representatives on large-scale construction projects.
Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret security clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • 5-10 years of experience supporting program or project management activities within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Experience working on large construction projects and coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and design teams.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using blast effect modeling tools such as VAPO, 3D Blast, Urban Blast Tool, or Extreme Loading for Structures (ELS).
  • Experience supporting federal or government construction programs.
  • Familiarity with security-related infrastructure design or protective construction standards.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure.
  • Experience supporting senior executive-level federal customers in highly secure, high-visibility operational environments preferred.
Salary RangeUSD $135,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
