Lead the structural design and technical delivery of major transformer, switching, frequency changer, condenser station, and generating station projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, safe, and reliable infrastructure solutions while providing technical expertise, design oversight, and engineering leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Function - Provide structural engineering design and technical support for station structures, foundations, and related infrastructure projects.
- Perform structural engineering work of average complexity associated with station facilities, including the preparation of designs, calculations, specifications, technical analyses, and recommendations.
- Assist senior engineers on projects involving greater complexity and provide technical guidance to supporting staff as required.
Key Responsibilities - Perform engineering analysis and design of station steel structures, equipment support structures, reinforced concrete foundations, buildings, and related facilities.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
- Develop engineering solutions and recommendations to support capital projects, asset replacement programs, and operational requirements.
- Review consultant, contractor, vendor, and manufacturer for submissions for technical compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
- Provide specialized structural engineering expertise on assigned projects and contribute to the resolution of technical engineering challenges.
- Provide technical support and engineering input during project planning, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout activities.
- Support project teams through design reviews, field investigations, condition assessments, inspections, and construction support activities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and regulatory agencies as required.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of engineering standards, guidelines, specifications, and best practices.
- Ensure of work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, safety requirements, and corporate policies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to supporting staff as required.
Qualifications - Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing, or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Demonstrated experience in structural engineering design, analysis, and assessment of industrial, utility, or heavy infrastructure facilities.
- Experience with steel, concrete, and foundation design.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assigned engineering work, exercise sound engineering judgment, and contribute effectively to multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations, specifications, design reports, and technical recommendations.
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software would be considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical documentation and communicate engineering recommendations effectively
- Perform other duties as required.
- This position is in Station Engineering requiring structural engineering design support for major and/or complex transformer, switching, frequency changer and condenser stations projects, and the switchyard features associated with generating stations.

The base salary for this role considers a variety of factors, including candidates' knowledge, skills, experience, education, and any applicable collective agreement requirements for union-represented positions.
