This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of New Glenn Stage One structural hardware! You will work with analysts, materials engineers, procurement specialist, and manufacturing teams to deliver a highly optimized structural assembly for integration onto the vehicle.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Primary responsibility: Full ownership of New Glenn Stage One structural component design
• Develop, release and maintain a full CAD and drawing engineering definition package.
• Prioritize and drive procurement activities to support vehicle build schedules.
• Provide engineering support to production and integration.
• Support integrated test objectives, data review and reporting
• Identify concepts for New Glenn upgrades and improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience
• Interest in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structural design.
• Familiarity with structural analysis techniques and fundamentals (Statics, Mechanics of Materials).
• Familiarity with material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
• Proficient in mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
• Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill
• Experience performing detail part and assembly design with airframe structure.
• Experience with FEA analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, LS/Dyna. Experience running structural and thermal analysis models.
• Production support experience with primary structure airframe assembly.
• Material Review Board certification for dispositioning non-conformances with primary structure airframe assembly.
• Knowledge of systems engineering practices, airframe manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
• Experience with Optimization and DOE methods as applied to design, analysis, and testing.
