Job Summary:

As a Spacecraft Structures Engineer, you will be responsible for working on the structural analysis of space vehicles and their associated mechanical equipment. The parts and systems you may work on will range from spacecraft primary and secondary structure, to ground support equipment, to pointing mechanisms and deployable structures. Your analysis will ensure that our space vehicles survive their complete development and operational lifecycles, including prototyping, test, transport, launch, and long-term operations.

This position’s internal job code is Structural Analysis Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for levels 3-4.

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis on high-performing satellite systems, including modal, static, loads generation, acceleration predictions, and stress analysis
• Develop high fidelity structural models to predict both system responses and local environments within the system structure
• Support space vehicle design, configuration, layout, and mass properties analysis
• Identify materials, processes, and facilities support necessary to deliver a qualified spacecraft structure
• Work to subsystem schedule and deliverables
• Manage structural qualification testing on spacecraft systems and components including test design, test conduct, data reduction, analysis, and reporting
• Develop and document required design and analysis processes
• Review part and assembly drawings
• Provide and accept feedback to and from your technical peers
• Other duties as assigned

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.A Final Post-Start Top Secret & Special Program Access is required.

Basic Requirements: (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• 5 or more years of industry experience in finite elements modeling inFEMAP/NASTRAN, or other FEA software packages (e.g.Abaqus, Ansys, Optistruct, etc.)
• 3 or more years' experience with environmental testing, including the analysis and execution ofmodal characterization, acoustic vibration, random vibration, sine burst, and shock testing.
• 3 or more years' experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD modeling software
• 1-2 years of hands-on fabrication experience (personal hobby projects, classwork, or extracurricular design clubs included)
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.A Final Post-Start Top Secret & Special Program Access is required.

PreferredQualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• 1-3 years of experience with mechanical design and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with mechanical design of spacecraft, e.g. materials, environments, and manufacturing processes
• Experience with the analysis of mechanisms
• Familiarity with composite structures, couples loads analysis, and/or fracture analysis
• Experience optimizing designs to meetdesign requirements and safety margins for static, dynamic, thermal, and fatigue loads
• Experience in force notching and sensor selection (accelerometers, load cells, etc.)
• Clear communication and organizational skills
• Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance

Summary Pay Range:

• Level 3: $92,000 - $164,000
• Level 4: $112,000 - $199,000
