About the Role
Working in our Midtown Manhattan office three days a week and reporting to the Associate Director, Strategy & Operations, the Manager, Strategy & Operations 6 Brand 6 Experiences will drive key strategic and operational initiatives across the Dow Jones Events business. The role will contribute to the growth and evolution of the Events portfolio through portfolio planning, product and franchise development, business case and proposal creation, competitive research, business reporting, calendar management, and cross-functional initiatives.
Working closely with the Strategy & Operations team and Events leadership, the Manager will translate business priorities into actionable plans, recommendations, timelines, and workstreams. This person will evaluate new opportunities, bring structure and analytical rigor to strategic initiatives, and coordinate across teams to advance growth and improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities across a matrixed organization.
You Will
Manage strategic projects that help grow and evolve the Dow Jones Events portfolio.
Support product strategy development across new and existing event franchises, including WSJ flagships, WSJLI, Journal House, Custom, B2B, Risk, Energy / OPIS / CMA, Wealth & Investing, and premium brand experiences.
Develop proposals, briefs, and business cases for new events, franchise extensions, investment opportunities, and commercial partnerships.
Assist in reviewing and researching competitor events in the market to identify emerging trends, competitive challenges, whitespace opportunities, and potential areas of innovation across Dow Jones events.
Partner with Sales, Strategy, Production, Finance, Audience, Comms, Content Operations, and portfolio leads to gather inputs and support the development of actionable event concepts and proposals.
Pressure-test new ideas against strategic priorities, audience opportunity, commercial potential, operational requirements, and portfolio fit.
Support the development of executive-level presentations and compile background materials on strategy development for internal and external stakeholders.
Complete regular updates, progress reports, and leadership materials related to strategic initiatives, portfolio performance, ROI, risks, recommendations, and decisions needed.
Build executive-level presentations and compile background materials on strategy development for internal and external stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve cross-functional coordination, reduce duplication, and support a more efficient operating model across the Events business.
Project manage timelines, briefs, trackers, approval processes, and cross-functional work streams for strategic initiatives and new event opportunities.
You Have
Bachelors Degree preferred
Willingness to work in our Midtown Manhattan office 3 days a week
7+ years of experience in product/portfolio strategy, commercial strategy, business operations, or product marketing, ideally within consulting, events, media, or information services
Experience evaluating new business or product opportunities, including developing business cases, assessing market/audience opportunity, commercial potential, competitive positioning, and operational feasibility
Demonstrated experience translating research, data, and stakeholder input into actionable recommendations for senior leadership
Strong project/program management experience, with a track record of driving complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution
Experience developing executive-level presentations, proposals, strategic briefs, and decision materials for senior stakeholders
Experience working in a cross-functional environment
Experience identifying process improvements and helping build more efficient, scalable operating practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to challenge conventional thinking and identify new approaches
Strong initiative, organization, and commitment to delivering high-quality work

Non-Union roleBase Pay Range: $130,000 - $145,000Were committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidates experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
