This is a hybrid role based in our Menlo Park or Bellevue office. You will split your time between working on-site with your engineering, product, and leadership partners and working remotely, giving you dedicated in-person time for planning, alignment, and the high-stakes conversations where being in the room matters.
AS A STAFF TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:- Define and own the program strategy for AppEx's highest-impact initiatives, spanning application surfaces, developer tooling, AI-powered experiences, and the underlying platform, from initial framing through launch and adoption
- Lead programs that cross AppEx sub-orgs (Applications, Notebooks, Native Apps, Drivers, AIML, Developer Platform) and extend into partner organizations across Snowflake, driving alignment where no single team owns the outcome
- Partner with Directors, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Principal Engineers to shape multi-quarter roadmaps, make tradeoff decisions explicit, and build execution plans that hold up under real-world complexity
- Drive cross-org decisions on shared APIs, integration points, and developer-facing launches that touch multiple Snowflake product surfaces
- Diagnose systemic friction in how AppEx plans and delivers, and design the operating mechanisms, including AI-assisted workflows, that improve engineering velocity and predictability across the org
- Represent AppEx programs to executive leadership with clear, data-backed narratives, recommendations, and escalations that drive decisions
- Raise the bar for technical program management across AppEx by mentoring other TPMs and establishing practices the wider organization adopts
OUR IDEAL STAFF TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER WILL HAVE:- 8+ years of technical program management experience, ideally at a cloud software company, with a track record of owning complex, multi-team programs end to end
- Experience leading programs at organization-wide scope, where success depended on aligning several teams with competing priorities and no shared reporting line
- Deep familiarity with developer-facing products or platform engineering, and an understanding of what it takes to build great developer experiences and ship them at scale
- Strong technical depth: you work directly with engineers and architects, go deep on system design and dependencies when needed, and keep execution on track
- A proven ability to influence without authority across Engineering, Product, Design, and Go-to-Market
- Comfort operating in ambiguity, defining structure and direction where none exists and making progress before all the answers are clear
- Excellent written and verbal communication, effective with engineers, executive stakeholders, and everyone in between
- Experience with modern cloud-native software development, including CI/CD, release management, and API-first development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
BONUS POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING:- Experience delivering AI/ML or generative AI products, such as LLM-powered features, agentic applications, or AI developer tooling, including the evaluation, quality, and launch-readiness challenges unique to them
- Working familiarity with GenAI concepts such as retrieval-augmented generation, agents, model evaluation, and inference cost tradeoffs, enough to engage credibly with engineers on design decisions
- A habit of using AI tools in your own work to plan, track, and communicate programs, and an appetite for finding new ways AI can make engineering organizations faster
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, data platforms, or developer tooling products such as Streamlit, Notebooks, Native Apps, Cortex, or Spark
- Experience driving developer ecosystem programs such as SDKs, drivers, or work adjacent to developer relations
- A track record of building data-driven program health mechanisms that leadership relies on for decisions
- Experience in a high-growth technology company environment
WHY JOIN THE APPEX TEAM AT SNOWFLAKE?AppEx is one of the most cross-cutting and high-visibility engineering organizations at Snowflake. The team owns the developer-facing surface area: the products developers open every morning to build, analyze, and deploy. From Streamlit's growth as a first-class app framework, to Notebooks as a unified analytics environment, to Native Apps enabling Snowflake's application ecosystem, to Cortex Code bringing AI-native development to the data cloud, AppEx ships the surfaces that define how the world experiences Snowflake.
As a Staff TPM, you will operate at the intersection of these surfaces, owning the programs that connect them and shaping how the organization delivers. Success in this role is measured not by outputs delivered, but by decisions influenced and outcomes improved.
