Description
Agile Space Industries is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to drive technical execution across multidisciplinary teams developing in-space propulsion systems, engines, and related components.
The Project Engineer works across Program Management, Systems Engineering, Product Leads, Technical Fellows, engineering, manufacturing, test, suppliers, and customers to keep product development aligned with technical objectives, cost, schedule, and program priorities.
The ideal candidate brings strong hardware product development experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to lead complex multidisciplinary efforts in a fast-paced development environment.
This is an open position at multiple levels from Staff through Senior Principal and will be assessed as part of the candidate review process, based on experience, technical leadership, complexity, and scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities - Manage product development plans, technical logic, work packages, priorities, and key milestones.
- Coordinate technical execution across engineering, manufacturing, test, supply chain, quality, suppliers, and customers.
- Partner with Program Management to align technical objectives, resources, cost, and schedule.
- Facilitate technical decision-making and drive cross-functional issues to resolution.
- Coordinate technical risk and opportunity management.
- Maintain program technical baselines and manage technical changes.
- Manage technical documentation, gated reviews, interim reviews, and customer deliverables.
- Align program execution with Systems Engineering, Product Leads, and Technical Fellows.
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant aerospace or hardware product development experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong technical judgment and ability to work through complex development issues.
- Experience working with customers and cross-functional organizations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Leveling Guide Candidates will be assessed and leveled based on experience, technical leadership, complexity of work, independence, and scope of responsibility.
Staff Project Engineer IV
- 10+ years of relevant engineering product development experience.
- Independently leads technical execution of a program or major development effort.
- Makes program-level technical decisions with limited oversight.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary teams and drives technical issues to closure.
Senior Staff Project Engineer V
Includes all expectations of Level IV, plus:
- 14+ years of relevant engineering product development experience.
- Leads larger or more complex programs with significant multidisciplinary coordination and technical ambiguity.
- Establishes technical execution approaches and development strategies.
- Mentors and provides guidance to other Project Engineers and technical leads.
- Drives resolution of complex technical and program execution challenges.
Principal Project Engineer VI
Includes all expectations of Level V, plus:
- 20+ years of relevant engineering product development experience.
- Leads highly complex programs or provides technical execution leadership across multiple programs.
- Resolves high-impact technical and programmatic challenges with broad organizational impact.
- Influences Project Engineering practices, execution methods, and technical decision-making across the organization.
- Provides technical guidance to program, engineering, and company leadership.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Salary: The expected salary range for this role is
$140,000 - $215,000 annually. The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
