What you'll do

You'll join the AI team, designing the agentic experiences at the heart of Brex's intelligent finance platform. We're building AI that doesn't just answer questions, but does real financial work on our customers' behalf. You will work with Product and Engineering teams to successfully communicate, evolve, and execute a strong product design standard that showcases Brex as a leader in financial innovation. You are a crucial component of our company's growth and product launches through your contributions to short and long-term strategic direction, creating and maintaining high visual standards and a strong focus on user needs. You have an owner's mentality, taking pride in your work and in your team's work, and view what you do as a part-owner and builder of Brex.
Where you'll work

This role will be based in our San Francisco or New York office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of two coordinated days in the office per week, Wednesday and Thursday. Starting February 2, 2026, we will require three days per week in office - Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!
How you work with AI

We're looking for designers who operate agentically. That means:
  • You treat AI as a collaborator. You delegate real work to agents and can show how they've changed the way you design.
  • You prototype in code with AI assistance (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, v0, or similar) and ship working demos.
  • You stay close to the models. You use frontier models daily, build intuition for what they can and can't do, and design for where capabilities are heading.
  • You question pre-AI interface primitives and invent patterns native to agentic products, rather than retrofitting chat onto existing flows.
Responsibilities
  • Use creative thinking toward establishing and executing on the vision for the team initiatives
  • Challenge the status quo, push innovation, and inspire people toward a unified outcome
  • Design agentic experiences end to end: how users delegate work to AI, supervise it in flight, review and correct its output, and build trust in automation that touches their money
  • Efficiently execute to ship products that deliver impact for our business and customers
  • Partner with the leadership team to successfully communicate concisely across the team and influence product and design outcomes
  • Work across the entire business stack and make an impact at different stages of the product: building vision & strategy, ensuring all the loose ends are tied up when executing, and making sure the operational components to support onboarding are in place, not just the product
  • Contribute toward growing and scaling design across the broader company and within the Design org
  • Push forward and maintain a high design bar and level of execution
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organization, partnering with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Data teams to define and launch new products and features
Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for detailed articulations of strategy, process, and leading cross-functional meetings to align teams
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, design, and product management teams
  • Strong ability to craft a clear narrative and paint a vision that communicates and aligns teams
  • Passion for team building and development
  • 10+ years of experience as a product designer
  • Hands-on experience designing AI-based products (either as part of your job or for your side projects)
Bonus points
  • Experience building customer-facing products from 0 to 1
  • Experience designing trust, transparency, and human-in-the-loop patterns for AI that takes consequential actions (fintech, healthcare, security, or similar high-stakes domains)
  • Experience working on products in both B2B and B2C companies
  • Experience writing/editing/contributing to documentation, training materials, and help articles to support product launches
Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $240,000 - $300,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
