About the job
As a Staff Optical Process Engineer, you'll be leading the process development for critical optical components for AR/VR display systems such as lenses, waveguide and module assemblies.
In this role, you will focus on process development, and manufacturing readiness for optical components and modules. You will be data-driven and experienced in precision optical molding, optical semiconductor processes and high precision automated assembly processes.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Develop precision optical components for AR/VR devices from concept to mass production.
Manage external vendor collaborations and oversee Design for Manufacturing (DFM), including material selection, process optimization, metrology, and quality control.
Design and optimize manufacturing process flows, and design and develop manufacturing tooling. Manage the process major issue list, conduct process troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Identify novel materials and fabrication techniques in optical surface generation, and optical coating to enable future generation optics and displays.
