General Summary:

Join Qualcomm's Data Center Business Unit as a Staff Manager of Product Management focused on Customer Strategy & Solution for custom silicon. This role works alongside the broader Customer Strategy & Solutions leadership team to shape customer strategy, translate customer needs into solution requirements, and align custom silicon opportunities with Qualcomm platform capabilities.

The Staff Manager serves as a customer strategy and solution interface between customers and Qualcomm's Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Sales, and Business Development teams to ensure customer opportunities are translated into actionable solution strategies, prioritized product requirements, and executable plans.

Customer Strategy & Solution Definition
  • Define customer solution strategy for custom silicon platform engagements by translating customer priorities, market needs, and technical requirements into actionable product and solution recommendations.
  • Partner with customers, Sales, Business Development, Architecture, and Engineering teams to assess opportunity fit, clarify solution scope, identify trade-offs, and support customer engagement strategy before program commitment.
  • Lead solution definition activities for requests for information, requests for quotation, statements of work, product requirements documents, and customer-specific engagement plans.
  • Translate customer priorities, market trends, and business objectives into product requirements, roadmap inputs, commercial assumptions, and execution planning recommendations.
  • Support customer meetings, solution reviews, and strategic engagement discussions by preparing clear product, technical, and business content for internal and external stakeholders.


Cross-Functional Alignment & Opportunity Execution
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Sales, and Business Development to resolve solution scope, customer priorities, feature trade-offs, and execution dependencies.
  • Support opportunity qualification, customer prioritization, investment recommendations, competitive analysis, and design-win strategies for custom silicon opportunities.
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, and Business Development on pricing inputs, commercial assumptions, non-recurring engineering models, customer value positioning, and revenue planning from a solution strategy perspective.
  • Prepare solution strategy content for executive reviews, customer updates, roadmap discussions, escalation support, and product commitment decisions.


Roadmap, Process & Product Management Leadership
  • Contribute customer strategy inputs to custom silicon platform, connectivity, chiplet, packaging, memory, compute, and technology roadmaps based on customer requirements, reusable solution opportunities, and market trends.
  • Establish and improve customer strategy and solution processes, templates, requirements governance, and tools that support consistent customer engagement and opportunity management.
  • Apply product management discipline to connect customer requirements, platform capabilities, business models, and execution plans across the custom silicon lifecycle.
  • Perform other product management responsibilities supporting customer strategy, solution planning, organizational priorities, and business objectives.


This is an office based position located in either Santa Clara or San Jose, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of semiconductor industry experience, including Product Management, Technical Product Management, Customer Solutions, Strategic Marketing, Business Development, or related roles.
  • Experience working with hyperscale cloud providers, AI infrastructure companies, strategic semiconductor customers, or customer-facing solution teams.
  • Demonstrated success contributing to complex custom silicon, infrastructure, networking, AI datacenter, or customer solution initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of custom silicon development lifecycles, semiconductor business models, customer engagement models, and technology platform strategies.
  • Experience supporting requests for information, requests for quotation, statements of work, product requirements documents, business proposals, and customer engagement plans.
  • Knowledge of AI infrastructure and data center systems, including compute, connectivity, networking, memory technologies, chiplets, advanced packaging, and semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong commercial, financial, and strategic planning skills, including business case development, pricing inputs, investment analysis, and revenue planning support.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and supporting executive-level decision making through clear customer strategy, solution trade-off, and product recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer engagement, analytical, solution strategy, and product leadership capabilities.


Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$205,000.00 - $307,600.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
