Full Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Fraud & Risk Analyst to own loss forecasting and reserving for an assigned portfolio. You will build durable forecasts and diagnostics, use AI to accelerate the work, and influence business decisions with analysis partners can act on.

The ideal candidate combines quantitative precision with the fluency to work across Risk Policy, Risk Operations, Finance, and Accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Own the independent Risk view of losses and reserves for an assigned portfolio (Services and/or Consumer Group), including cohorted and uncohorted views, and clearly articulate the basis for that view.
  • Advance the function beyond reporting. Convert loss, reserve, and trend analysis into recommendations that protect and improve business profitability - including where tighter controls are warranted and where incremental risk is justified by return.
  • Monitor negative-balance and collections trends and translate emerging risk into P&L implications in time to inform decisions.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting through the monthly close to establish a single, timely view of losses across Risk and partner teams.
  • Design and maintain scalable forecasting and diagnostic capabilities so portfolio reviews are consistent and repeatable.
  • Lead attribution of material loss movements and incidents (including fraud, ATO, and large losses), quantifying dollar and basis-point impact and stating Risk's expected outlook.
  • Advise Risk Policy and Operations on the loss impact of initiatives
  • Investigate forecast misses and reserve variances and recommend rate or process changes with a defined path forward.
  • Use SQL, cloud data platforms (Databricks), and AI to move from question to recommendation quickly enough to influence decisions.
  • Escalate emerging risk promptly so partners are informed by Risk first when losses are expected to deviate from plan.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in risk analytics, credit or loss forecasting, financial analysis, or a related quantitative role in financial services or fintech.
  • Demonstrated expertise in loss forecasting, reserves, and P&L dynamics, including the ability to attribute basis-point movements to volume, rate, mix, fraud, or collections
  • High quantitative rigor and attention to detail, with a consistent record of producing analysis that partners can rely on.
  • An AI-first approach to analysis, using AI tools to accelerate research, diagnostics, and delivery while retaining ownership of the recommendation.
  • Advanced SQL; experience with a cloud data warehouse or lakehouse (Databricks, Hive, Snowflake, or equivalent); strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to partner effectively with Finance, Accounting, and Risk stakeholders and to defend a recommendation under challenge.
  • Clear written communication, with concise, decision-ready updates.

Preferred
  • Experience in money movement and lending.
  • Experience with disputes, delinquent balances, and collections analytics.
  • Experience building a forecast or reserve process where one did not previously exist.
  • Experience with BI or dashboarding tools (Tableau, Looker, or equivalent). Python is a plus.
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis while retaining ownership of judgment.
