Full Job Description
Infineon Technologies - IR HiRel is seeking a technically driven Field Application Engineer to support our growing Aerospace & Defense business. This customer-facing role sits at the intersection of advanced semiconductor technology and the industry's most demanding applications- satellite systems, launch vehicles, military avionics, defense platforms, and national laboratory programs.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • As the primary technical resource for key accounts, you will guide customers from early design conception through successful product integration. Drawing on Infineon's portfolio of radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant semiconductors - MOSFETs, GaN power devices, gate drivers, and integrated power ICs - you will shorten development cycles, reduce system cost, and improve the reliability of products built to survive the harshest environments on Earth and in space.
  • Own the technical relationship across the full sales cycle - from early design engagement through design win capture and program ramp
  • Partner with account managers to identify socket opportunities, build block diagram-aligned solution proposals, and position Infineon's rad-hard and rad-tolerant portfolio competitively
  • Deliver technical presentations, application training, and design reviews tailored to the constraints of space and defense programs
  • Provide pre- and post-sales support including schematic review, PCB layout guidance, and system-level performance validation for designs utilizing GaN, Si MOSFETs, gate drivers, and power ICs
  • Validate customer applications in radiation environments, supporting derating analysis, SEE mitigation strategies, and TID margin assessments
  • Advise on product selection across rad-hard and plastic rad-tolerant product lines for GEO, MEO, LEO, and defense environments
  • Guide customers through applicable qualification standards includingMIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-750, and JEDEC space standards
  • Capture and communicate customer requirements to product and marketing teams to influence roadmap development
Provide technical win/loss insight and contribute to the internal opportunity pipeline
