We are looking for a
Staff Data Engineer to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to
Senior Manager, Metrology and Data Analytics and based in
Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.
Role and Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and analytics solutions that support manufacturing and engineering teams.
- Build and maintain curated datasets and data products that enable reliable reporting, visualization, and self-service analytics.
- Develop software and automation tools in support of manufacturing operations, engineering workflows, and data collection systems.
- Develop and support MES and manufacturing software solutions, including Ignition Perspective screens, custom functionality, and system integrations, in collaboration with IT and external system integrators.
- Design and implement solutions for storing, visualizing, and analyzing metrology and image-based inspection data.
- Apply software engineering best practices including version control, testing, documentation, and code review.
Skills and Experience: Required:
- Expert proficiency in Python for software development, automation, and data processing.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and relational database design.
- Experience designing and supporting production data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, and QuickSight.
- Experience with Ignition and Sepasoft MES platforms.
- Experience with source control tools such as Git and collaborative software development workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead the technical execution of complex, cross-functional projects from requirements through deployment.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Preferred:
- Experience with manufacturing, quality, metrology, or industrial automation systems.
- Experience with modern data transformation and data modeling tools such as dbt.
- Experience working with image data, computer vision, or image analysis applications.
- Experience developing web-based applications, dashboards, or user interfaces.
