Job Summary:

Supermicro is seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager to join our Solution Architecture team as the program management lead for our strategic partner solution programs. This is a solution program management role at its core: you will own the operating model, governance, and execution discipline that turn joint solution strategy with our key technology partners into predictable, well-run programs - from concept and reference architecture through validation, qualification, and customer deployment.

Working hand in hand with Solution Architects, you are the single point of program accountability across the solution lifecycle. You set the program plan and cadence, manage scope and dependencies, drive risks and decisions to closure, and keep architects, partners, sales, operations, and the factory aligned to one set of commitments. You bring the structure - intake, prioritization, milestones, change control, and reporting - that lets a portfolio of solution programs run on time and at scale.

This is a high-visibility role requiring strong program-management craft, solution and infrastructure fluency, commercial awareness, and the ability to run complex, partner-facing programs in a fast-paced environment. This role is based at our headquarters in San Jose, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own solution program management end to end - lead the full lifecycle of strategic partner solution programs, from intake and scoping through reference architecture, validation, qualification, deployment, and scale, with clear ownership of timeline, scope, and outcomes.
  • Define and run the program operating model - establish the planning rhythm, working cadences, decision forums, RACI, and stage gates that keep each program and the overall portfolio moving predictably.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and dependencies - build and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, critical paths, and cross-team dependency maps; protect commitments through disciplined change control.
  • Drive risk, issue, and decision management - proactively surface risks and blockers, run them to closure with clear owners and dates, and escalate with the right context at the right time.
  • Lead the partner program interface - serve as the primary program contact with strategic partners' engineering, product, operations, and support teams, managing deliverables, escalations, release schedules, and joint milestones.
  • Coordinate solution validation and qualification programs - orchestrate partner-hosted and Supermicro-hosted validation, reliability, and proof-of-concept efforts on production-representative hardware, including the governance and traceability to run them at scale.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional delivery - align Solution Architecture, sales, operations, and the factory so design, material readiness, builds, and deployment stay on plan as programs move from pilot to production scale.
  • Establish program governance and reporting - status structures, executive dashboards, KPIs/health metrics, and operational review mechanisms that give Supermicro and partners a clear, shared view of program health.
  • Bridge business and technical execution - partner with account and sales-operations teams on commercial readiness (pricing inputs, SOW/agreements, forecasting, and order flow) so commercial and technical milestones stay in lockstep.
  • Define and track program KPIs - measure schedule adherence, milestone and qualification completion, issue burn-down, and deployment outcomes; use the data to drive continuous improvement in how programs are run.
  • Develop executive-level communications - program status reports, dashboards, risk assessments, and decision memos for Supermicro and partner leadership reviews.
  • Scale the program management practice - mature templates, playbooks, and processes so solution programs run consistently and grow cleanly from initial deployments to full production footprint.

Qualifications:

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in Technical / Solutions Program Management, with a track record of owning complex programs end to end in data center, storage, or AI infrastructure.
  • Deep program-management craft - integrated planning, scope and dependency management, change control, stage gates, and governance - applied across multiple concurrent programs or a program portfolio.
  • Proven experience running cross-functional programs that span solution design, validation, and customer deployment, ideally in partnership with external technology partners.
  • Strong technical fluency in data center solutions (compute, storage, and AI infrastructure) and the ability to engage credibly with Solution Architects and partner engineers.
  • Experience with solution validation, qualification, and NPI (New Product Introduction) processes in the server, storage, or data center industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional and partner teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience producing executive-level reporting, dashboards, and decision memos.

Preferred/Bonus
  • Formal program/project management methodology and credentials (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent) and experience standing up program operating models and playbooks.
  • Experience running partner solution programs or joint validation / proof-of-concept labs with strategic technology partners.
  • Familiarity with storage and AI-infrastructure platforms and rack-scale solution deployment.
  • Exposure to the commercial side of programs - pricing, SOW/agreements, forecasting, and order flow - and comfort operating at the solution/business interface.
  • Background spanning the full lifecycle (product, operations, or go-to-market) that supports running programs end to end.
  • Willingness to travel and collaborate across global (including US-Taiwan) time zones; Mandarin proficiency a plus.
