Role SummaryThis role supports Perception/Raven test integration within Automated Drive, coordinating across the modeling, onboard, and data branches that must come together for Raven testing to succeed.
Responsibilities- Track and manage software changes across the modeling and data branches supporting Raven (perception) testing, in coordination with the engineer tracking the onboard branch.
- Identify and resolve cross-branch divergence issues (e.g., breaking changes introduced upstream) before they impact test validity.
- Partner with the perception modeling team to understand the scope and intent of upcoming model changes prior to test execution.
- Support test execution across various prototype and developmental vehicle perception test suites, incorporating modeling-side context into planning.
- Work with Perception, Planning, and Systems teams to bring automated driving system components together.
- Maintain software branches supporting iteration across new model deployments and other downstream systems.
- Deep-dive into vehicle log data and source code as needed to root-cause system-level issues, in collaboration with domain experts.
- Take a data-driven approach to analyzing the performance of perception models or software changes affecting feature performance or development.
Qualifications- Direct, hands-on experience with software tracking systems and complex software versioning workflows, including coordinating changes across multiple parallel branches.
- Extensive CI/CD experience, including release coordination across concurrent development tracks.
- Experience in at least one of the following: vehicle controls/vehicle dynamics, perception systems, or ML model development and training.
- Proficiency with Git and software repository management tools, with a track record of managing complex branching structures.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment, proactively collaborating cross-functionally to solve vehicle-level integration problems.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety concepts and testing-related safety procedures.
- Flexibility to travel domestically/internationally to support vehicle-level integration and test activities.
- Clean driving record, with professional experience driving prototype test vehicles on test tracks.
