The Software Engineer will support the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of a Data Dictionary capability that provides metadata specification, storage, and access services. This system includes a Java/Spring-based backend, RESTful APIs, and a web-based user interface. The engineer will work independently to implement features, contribute to architectural decisions, and support full lifecycle software delivery within a collaborative Agile environment.
ResponsibilitiesPrimary responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance Java/Spring applications supporting:
- A web-based user interface for creating and managing metadata specifications, including attributes and valid values
- A database solution for storing specifications
- RESTful services enabling programmatic access to specifications
- Design and implement backend services and APIs
- Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and engineering best practices
- Develop and maintain database schemas, queries, and integrations
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment activities, and operational readiness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and system integrators
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Required Qualifications- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph up front (no sponsorship available)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Four (4) additional years of software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, for a total of twelve (12) years of experience
- Minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in SIGINT, IA, or IT domains
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience with modern Java and Spring/Spring Boot development
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and JSON-based web services
- Strong SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL or equivalent technologies
- Experience working in Linux development environments
