Reporting to the Director, Quality, you are an essential member of the In-Lab quality management team and responsible for the overall quality performance at two locations, Heath & Hebron In-Labs.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overall responsibility of quality performance including the MISTRAS' quality management system, Prime approvals, improving First Time Right, maintaining and developing relationships with Aerospace Primes and customers and improving processes.
- Focused, productive interaction with clients, Accreditation Bodies and Primes and advising operational co-employees of the importance of quality, accuracy and integrity in the provision of the inspection and testing services we provide.
- Lead quality strategies at the In-Lab level in collaboration with the Director, Quality and General Manager to ensure that MISTRAS' quality policies, processes and procedures are effectively implemented and consistently applied and complied with.
- As a quality leader within MISTRAS you will drive a culture of quality assurance and quality improvement, working closely with In-Lab operations leaders, employes and the wider MISTRAS quality community.
- Maintenance and scope extension of all accreditations (e.g. ISO/IEC 17025 and Nadcap), Prime approvals and any other regulatory requirements.
- Implement and maintain the QMS, ensuring the necessary controls are in place to govern the inspection and testing undertaken.
- Effectively manage the day-to-day implementation of the QMS and support colleagues in its implementation.
- Prioritize activities to meet the needs of the business, colleagues and our customers.
- Embed and drive a culture of quality assurance and quality improvement in all parts of the laboratory operations.
- Ensure continued fulfillment of customer expectations through the implementation of the QMS, e.g. through effective contact review, reporting and in communication with customers or approval bodies.
- Ensure that all accreditations are maintained and extended, as agreed with operational management and the Director, Quality, to service our customer base and retrain our competitive position as a leader in materials testing.
- Manage A2LA and Nadcap assessments, visits from and other regulatory bodies as required.
- Ensure any findings from assessments are responded to in line with MISTRAS established quality requirements and in the timeline and format dictated by the assessment bodies.
- Establish and implement appropriate QA/QC programs to reduce the cost of poor quality and improve compliance to regulations, standards, company objectives and customer requirements.
- Ensure training in the electronic quality management system (eQMS) is effective and that colleagues implement the system across the facility.
- Drive and monitor the implementation of eQMS, ensuring full usage of the available modules.
- Provide quality training to employees when onboarding and provide refresher training to existing employees.
- Implement method audits, system audits, and proficiency testing in line with the established schedule(s) and ensure these are maintained up to date
- Maintain good working relationships with operational employees and with the wider quality community.
Required Qualifications:- Minimum 10 years' Sr. Quality Manager/Quality Manager experience within the Aerospace industry and Nadcap for NDT inspection and materials testing or a related environment (e.g. manufacturing).
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in participating in quality investigations, undertaking root cause analysis, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring effectiveness of actions undertaken.
- Proven working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and NADCAP requirements in relation to materials testing.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize activities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
- Remain up-to-date with changes in the quality landscape and proactively maintain continuous education to support advanced quality expertise.
- Proven ability to lead and drive a quality culture across relevant operations levels from technician to General Manager.
- Proven ability to identify quality and technical issues and collaboratively work with internal stakeholders to determine effective and sustainable solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:- Strong, demonstrated knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, RCCA, Lean Six Sigma, and regulatory compliance. ASQ CMQ/OE, CQE, and Lead Auditor certifications.
- Demonstrated success leading quality teams, customer audits, supplier quality initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
