The Role:

As the Sr. Production Training Coordinator, reporting to the Production Manager, you will provide operational coordination, technical leadership, and training oversight to support safe, compliant, and reliable production performance. You will exercise independent judgment and discretion to assess priorities, evaluate operational and training performance gaps, determine appropriate courses of action, and recommend solutions that support production continuity, employee qualification, and compliance expectations. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally to coordinate resources, resolve complex operational issues, and influence decisions related to employee progression, qualification readiness, and ongoing performance improvement.

How You Will Make an Impact:
  • Ensures EHS compliance and determines appropriate actions to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.
  • Serves as backup to the Production Manager during absences by exercising judgment to prioritize work, direct daily operational activities, and make sound decisions that support production continuity.
  • Leads technology improvements to the training and competency process by evaluating tools such as AI and Virtual Reality and recommending solutions to improve employee development and qualification timelines.
  • Analyzes and resolves operational issues, including off-specification events and production constraints impacting daily and weekly volume targets, and determines appropriate escalation or corrective action.
  • Serves as the primary decision-making interface for coordinating production activities with Supply Chain, Maintenance, Engineering, and other support functions.
  • Acts as an area process steward by applying technical knowledge to evaluate operating performance, identify risks or gaps, and recommend actions to improve production execution and process optimization.
  • Partners with maintenance planner/schedulers to plan work, coordinate resources, resolve production and maintenance exceptions, and recommend priority adjustments based on business and operational needs.
  • Monitors and analyzes key performance indicators, including production yields, raw material conversion, asset utilization, warehouse material inventory, and related measures, to evaluate performance gaps and determine continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Engineering on advanced troubleshooting, evaluates root causes, recommends corrective actions, and develops problem-solving capability in supervisors and operators.
  • Coordinates and supports shutdown planning and execution by assessing operational readiness, aligning resources, and recommending adjustments in partnership with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Evaluates operational changes and determines when Management of Change support or escalation is required.
  • Assesses area and process-specific training needs for supervisors and operators based on operational requirements, compliance expectations, qualification standards, and observed performance gaps.
  • Identifies, develops, and maintains new-hire production training and ongoing production training requirements for assigned production area(s) to support safe and effective employee progression.
  • Develops, reviews, and updates production training manuals, materials, and qualification resources based on operational needs, procedure changes, and demonstrated competency gaps.
  • Creates, manages, and adjusts production training plans that align with operational needs, site procedures, compliance expectations, and employee qualification requirements.
  • Utilizes SAP to support production coordination, planning, performance evaluation, and follow-up activities.
  • Administers the Learning Management System to assign, track, evaluate, and document production training completion and identify gaps requiring follow-up action.
  • Coordinates and documents field training verifications to confirm employees can safely and effectively perform required production tasks and determine readiness for progression.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to Production Supervisors and Operators to improve technical capability, operational discipline, and process performance.
  • Evaluates and coaches production trainers and recommends actions to improve training consistency, effectiveness, and qualification outcomes.
  • Monitors and documents trainee progress, evaluates readiness for progression, and recommends appropriate action based on qualification status and training performance.
  • Supports new hire orientation, setup, and initial production-orientation training by evaluating readiness and identifying early training needs.
  • Conducts routine audits of production tasks, including work permitting, inspections, LOTO, and other critical work practices, and recommends corrective actions when gaps are identified.
  • Participates in interviews for production roles and provides recommendations on candidate technical aptitude, learning ability, and fit for production training expectations.
