Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Technical who will own the business requirements for our electrification infrastructure products - everything beyond the charger itself. This is not a desk-only role. You will be in the field, deep-diving real telemetry and failure data from our deployed electrical infrastructure, then working backwards from our customers - operations teams, maintenance technicians, commissioning agents, and third-party service providers - to define, build, and scale the next generation of infrastructure equipment and monitoring solutions.

You will serve as the critical link between what our field users experience and what gets built into our infrastructure roadmap. You will translate operational pain points, maintenance friction, and commissioning challenges into clear product requirements, monitoring capabilities, and software features that make our electrification systems more reliable, observable, and self-sustaining at scale.

This role requires a product leader who is deeply technical in industrial-scale electrical systems and power electronics, while remaining relentlessly customer-obsessed. You must understand power conversion technologies (including emerging platforms like solid-state transformers), SCADA architectures, and the monitoring/telemetry pipelines that move data from field equipment to backend services. You will assess new technologies, structure pilots, gather structured feedback from field users, and evaluate third-party supplier capabilities to inform build-vs-buy decisions.

You will work cross-functionally with Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Design/Deployment, Commissioning, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and our third-party equipment suppliers. You will coordinate daily with these partners and travel to sites to validate assumptions, run user testing on monitoring systems, and build relationships with the field teams whose feedback drives your roadmap.

Key job responsibilities
• Own the business requirements for all electrification infrastructure products excluding the charger itself, including power distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, power conversion equipment, and associated monitoring systems
• Deep dive field data on current electrical infrastructure issues to identify product gaps, prioritize investments, and build the business case for monitoring, telemetry, and equipment improvements
• Work backwards from operations, maintenance personnel, commissioning agents, and third-party technicians to define scalable infrastructure solutions that grow with Amazon's electrification program
• Build and coordinate user testing programs for monitoring systems, ensuring field usability, data quality, and alignment with customer workflows
• Assess emerging power conversion technologies (e.g., solid-state transformers) and structure pilots to validate performance, reliability, and operational fit; own feedback collection and go/no-go recommendations
• Evaluate third-party supplier capabilities and drive supplier selection, roadmap alignment, and technical requirement negotiations
• Own the product roadmap for software features supporting infrastructure resiliency, including auto-healing capabilities that maintain system uptime through single power-module failures
• Define requirements for SCADA integration and telemetry pipelines that transmit field data to backend services for analytics, alerting, and predictive maintenance
• Feed prioritized, well-defined requirements into Systems Engineering and coordinate daily with third-party suppliers, Supply Chain, Design/Deployment, Commissioning, and Maintenance teams
• Represent the voice of the customer in design reviews, supplier business reviews, and program milestone reviews

A day in the life

Your morning starts reviewing overnight telemetry from deployed sites - you're deep-diving a pattern of power module derating events across three sites to determine whether it's a design gap or an installation issue, and the data will feed directly into a PRFAQ you're drafting for a next-gen monitoring feature. By midday, you're on a call with a commissioning agent walking through friction points in the current field diagnostics workflow - insights that will shape user acceptance criteria for the monitoring UI your team is piloting next quarter.

Later in the week, you lead a working session with a solid-state transformer supplier to assess their product roadmap against your requirements, then meet with Systems Engineering to hand off requirements for a redundancy feature. Between customer interviews and supplier deep-dives, you're building something bigger: a monitoring platform strategy that scales with Amazon's electrification footprint. You close the week presenting your product roadmap, pilot results, and customer feedback synthesis to your director.
