We are seeking a highly motivated Global Fab Operations Program Manager to lead strategic manufacturing initiatives across our global wafer fab network. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, capacity expansion programs, cost optimization strategies, and cross-functional initiatives that directly impact the company's profitability, scalability, and competitive advantage.

The ideal candidate combines deep manufacturing expertise with strong business acumen, executive communication skills, and a passion for leading complex, high-impact programs in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Manufacturing Leadership
  • Lead enterprise-wide operational initiatives focused on capacity modeling, productivity improvement, and sustainable unit cost reduction across global wafer fabrication operations.
  • Develop and execute strategies that improve manufacturing efficiency, profitability, and long-term operational competitiveness.
  • Identify operational gaps and drive breakthrough improvements that establish best-in-class manufacturing performance and cost structures.
  • Partner closely with business, operations, engineering, and finance organizations to align strategic objectives and execution plans.

Program & Portfolio Management
  • Lead complex, cross-functional programs involving multiple organizations, manufacturing sites, and external partners.
  • Establish program governance, milestones, risk management plans, and executive reporting mechanisms to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage large-scale capital and operational budgets while achieving committed financial and operational performance targets.
  • Drive accountability through clearly defined KPIs, project scorecards, and operational metrics.

Manufacturing Economics & Cost Optimization
  • Conduct detailed analyses of wafer manufacturing costs, cost drivers, and operational performance metrics.
  • Partner with technology development teams to evaluate cost structures for future technology nodes and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that improve unit economics and support long-term margin expansion.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership to develop forecasts, business cases, investment strategies, and profitability improvement plans.


Key Responsibilities (cont)

Global Operational Excellence
  • Work closely with global manufacturing sites to optimize resource utilization, factory performance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive facility utilization and floor-space density improvement programs across wafer fabrication facilities.
  • Lead supplier and contractor engagements to ensure successful execution of strategic operational initiatives.
  • Champion continuous improvement methodologies including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Executive Communication & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations highlighting program progress, milestones, risks, opportunities, and business impact.
  • Influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization to build alignment and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate decision-making through data-driven recommendations and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Lead critical discussions, negotiations, and cross-functional reviews to drive execution and remove barriers.


Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations, or semiconductor production environments.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible program or project management experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale operational improvement, capacity planning, and cost reduction programs.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and business planning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Proven ability to influence across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including international travel.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline.
  • Semiconductor wafer fabrication experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with manufacturing economics, factory planning, industrial engineering, and operational excellence initiatives.

Experience leading global teams, suppliers, contractors, and external manufacturing partners.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $143,000 - $286,400 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
