Full Job Description
The role
You will lead Trust & Safety Policy at Suno. Directly building and shaping our policies, you will also partner with PM, Eng, and Legal to understand the impact policies have on detection and remediation of violative content, fraud, bots, and identity issues, while also navigating music rights and our regulatory obligations. Generation volume grows faster than any human review model can, so we focus on policies that enable our enforcement systems to scale with the platform, hold it to a high degree of accuracy, and understand what decisions cost. You will report to the Head of Trust & Safety and partner regularly with Comms, Product, Engineering, ML, and Legal.
What you'll do
Own the Trust & Safety policy portfolio end to end: content and behavior policies, enforcement standards, and the policy roadmap as generation volume and product surface area grow.
Write policy that machines can enforce: translate principles into decision criteria, model thresholds and reviewer guidance that produce consistent outcomes at millions of generations per day.
Own policy for the hard genAI music problems: artist voice impersonation, rights-adjacent abuse, synthetic content disclosure and prompt-level misuse, in partnership with Legal.
Turn regulatory obligations (DSA, OSA and emerging AI-content regimes) into enforceable internal policy and audit-ready documentation, in partnership with Legal.
Run the policy development lifecycle: risk assessment, stakeholder review, launch guidance, enforcement calibration and post-launch measurement of policy effectiveness.
Set the escalation and edge-case framework: who decides what, on what timeline, with what precedent, so novel cases become policy instead of one-off judgment calls.
Publish externally when it counts: community guidelines, transparency reporting inputs, and policy explanations creators can actually understand.
Partner with Product and Engineering early so policy shapes features before launch rather than cleaning up after them.
What you'll bring
7+ years in trust & safety, platform policy, or integrity work, including 3+ years owning a policy domain at a UGC or generative AI platform.
A portfolio of policies you wrote that shipped and held up: you can walk through the risk assessment, the enforcement design, and what you changed after launch data came in.
Demonstrated experience making policy machine-enforceable: decision trees, model threshold input, labeling taxonomies or reviewer guidance that produced measurable consistency gains.
Fluency in the regulatory landscape shaping platform policy (DSA, OSA and emerging AI-content regimes) and a record of converting obligations into operational requirements rather than memos.
Working knowledge of music rights, IP or media licensing sufficient to write credible policy alongside Legal without needing them to hold the pen.
Evidence of moving Product, Engineering and Legal to adopt policy positions they did not start with.
Writing that operators, executives and regulators can each use: precise enough to enforce, clear enough to defend publicly.
Nice to have
Music, media, or IP-adjacent platform experience and fluency in rights-matching abuse patterns.
Direct exposure to DSA, OSA, or emerging AI-content regulatory regimes as operational requirements.
