About the TeamThe Enterprise Identity team sits within Workday's Cyber Security function as a key part of Enterprise Security. We are dedicated to delivering secure identity and access management, lifecycle management, governance and administration, and privileged access management to the entire Workday organization.
We architect business processes, align enterprise tooling, document processes and procedures, and partner with peer organizations to keep Workday secure. Our team collaborates with key partners across the company, including Business Technology (BT), Product & Technology, Legal & Compliance, Internal Audit, and other Security organizations. In the year ahead, we are focused on advancing Identity Governance and driving Zero Standing Privileges initiatives that will help shape the future of identity security at Workday.
We are a team that takes our mission seriously while fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. If you are passionate about identity security and want to make a meaningful impact at a global technology leader, this is the team for you!
About the RoleAs technical lead for Workday's User Access Review (UAR) strategy and execution, you'll run end-to-end access certification programs, eliminate access creep, and keep governance and compliance continuous across IAM, ILM, IGA, and PAM systems.
In this role, you will:
- Design, architect, and run enterprise-wide UAR programs to detect and remediate access creep across cloud and on-prem environments
- Automate certification workflows and review cadences in IGA platforms to cut admin effort and improve accuracy
- Partner with internal and external auditors to align UAR with SOX, SOC2, and ISO 27001, and deliver audit-ready reporting
- Pair Zero Standing Privileges (ZSP) and Just-In-Time (JIT) provisioning with periodic reviews to speed revocation and enforce least privilege
- Apply AI/ML to enable risk-based reviews, automated revocation suggestions, and anomaly detection
- Build identity and security services with AI/ML to automate threat detection and risk-based access decisions
- Work with product owners on secure requirements, security architecture, and contextual authorization
- Evolve security policies and procedures toward modern, least-privilege identity approaches
- Own identity security and governance across departments, influencing stakeholders at every level
- Treat identity solutions as internal products, scaling them for efficiency and adoption
- Balance strong security controls with business agility and a smooth user experience
Core focus: User Access Reviews. UARs anchor Workday's identity governance, keeping access aligned with least privilege. You'll lead three pillars:
- Strategy & governance: Build certification cycles scaled to system criticality and risk, with clear entitlement ownership, definition catalogs, and automated revocation workflows
- Automation & intelligence: Use IGA platforms and AI/ML to reduce reviewer fatigue through peer-group analysis, usage signals, and automatic revocation of inactive entitlements
- Compliance & audit readiness: Standardize audit trails, evidence collection, and reporting (SOX, SOC2, ISO 27001) with full traceability of every review decision and access change
About YouBasic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field
- 7+ years of IT or infosec experience (4+ with an MS)
- Hands-on experience designing, launching, and managing enterprise-scale UAR and access certification campaigns
- Experience with Okta (IAM, Workflows)
- Deep expertise in IGA tooling (Okta Identity Governance, SailPoint, Saviynt) for automated UAR campaigns, entitlement cataloging, and remediation
- Familiarity with identity lifecycle management concepts, including source of truth
- Practical experience with regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and identity gap remediation
Other Qualifications
- UAR & compliance mastery: Orchestrating complex certifications across heterogeneous systems, mapping entitlements, and enforcing regulatory controls
- Product mindset: Focus on user experience, reduced friction, and measurable adoption alongside security
- Risk-based judgment: Sound decisions in ambiguous environments, balancing security and operational needs
- Influence: Strong communication from engineers to the C-suite; ability to translate identity risk into business impact
- Security engineering & AI: Experience building secure systems and applying AI/ML to risk scoring and access control
- Threat & vulnerability management: Assessing and mitigating weaknesses in identity infrastructure; staying current on threats

Our Approach to Flexible WorkWith Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply
spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
