Position SummaryOur Client is looking for a Senior HVAC Service Technician (Hot Water, DX Systems, Chillers & More) to join a growing, customer-focused team. You'll work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, including hot water systems, DX systems, chillers, and more, across a diverse territory. Territory: Des Moines, IA (with coverage across eastern Iowa, western Illinois, Missouri to Minnesota).
This role balances technical expertise with hands-on service, and it's ideal for someone who enjoys working independently while supporting a growing team.
Travel is minimal, with overnight stays only when necessary. The first year may involve more driving to establish your territory. Core focus is on Daikin equipment; Johnson Controls experience not required. Opportunity to work with cutting-edge HVAC technology, including VFDs and VRV/VRF systems.
Primary Functions- Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including hot water, DX, chillers, cooling towers, fan systems, VFDs, and low voltage controls.
- Conduct equipment inspections, start-ups, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide technical training and support to clients and team members.
- Identify opportunities for new services and solutions.
- Travel within the assigned territory (Dubuque to Waterloo, Burlington, Grinnell, eastern Iowa, western Illinois, Missouri to Minnesota).
- Maintain accurate service records using company laptop and mobile systems.
Must-Haves- 5+ years of HVAC experience, preferably in industrial or commercial settings.
- Expertise in hot water, DX systems, chillers, VRV/VRF, and low voltage controls.
- Expertise in VRV/VRF systems, Daikin equipment, and refrigeration service.
- HVAC license and EPA certification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication.
- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical capability to lift 75 lbs and work in confined or elevated spaces.
Preferred Qualifications- Technical training or certifications beyond high school (technical training preferred).
- Daikin training.
- Experience with VFDs and industrial refrigeration.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territory.
- Previous experience in large-scale commercial or industrial facilities.
