Senior-level engineer applying electrical engineering knowledge and skills for large, complex, long duration engineering projects.
Day to Day Role- Manage and prioritize projects or programs of large size, scope, and duration
- Lead and coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters
- Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions, electrical designs and software systems for machine and process controls
- Lead the creation and modification of designs and requirements for automated production equipment, electrical and hardware schematics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software
- Oversee equipment debug and installations
- Identify broad conceptual ideas and develop them into useful solutions
- Collaborate with production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
- Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions
- Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
Core Skills and QualificationsThe ideal canddiate must posses the following:- Requires one of the following:
- Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and six (6) years of related engineering experience, OR
- Associate's degree and twelve (12) years of related engineering experience
- Experience designing, developing, implementing and troubleshooting complex control systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic, Human-Machine Interface (HMI), and controls software
- Experience utilizing 5S procedures
- Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
- Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Advanced knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of products
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Ability to successfully prioritize, and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
- Strong verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related information
