A career in our SR&ED tax practice at PwC Canada offers the opportunity to help clients solve business issues related to tax credits and incentives. You will assist in identifying and maximizing federal and provincial tax credits and incentives, providing valuable analysis and tracking to support clients' business objectives. Our team focuses on creating proactive and value-added programs to enhance client engagement and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and rules.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the completion of SR&ED claims (Canada) and R&D tax credit claims (US).
  • Complete assignments on time and within budget to meet client expectations
  • Provide practical solutions to optimize clients' returns from SR&ED and other government incentives
  • Lead meetings and support clients during SR&ED reviews
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, reporting to Partners
  • Lead the financial management of clients
  • Lead business development activities to identify and research opportunities to grow the practice
  • Contribute to the development of your own and the team's technical acumen
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Manage and deliver larger projects


What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience in computer science, IT, or technical management including competencies in Software development, hardware development and IT systems
  • A degree or education in a STEM field or related discipline
  • Broad knowledge of current development technologies including web development, XML, Java, JavaScript, C#, database technologies, open source, mobile apps, and other related technologies
  • Prior experience with the SR&ED tax credit program including preparing and supporting IT or software based SR&ED claims
  • Strong client-service orientation focused on achieving high quality, timely and profitable results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Creative problem-solving skills to apply the SR&ED rules to client opportunities and the skill and experience needed to lead claim preparation and review engagements

The salary range for this position is $147,300 - $197,300. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At PwC Canada, base salary is determined by your skills, experience, qualifications and work location. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may have opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs which are designed to reward individual and firm-wide achievements. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
