Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data & AI Governance Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Purview to lead the implementation of data
governance and compliance capabilities for our clients, while simultaneously helping build a scalable Data & AI Governance capability
within our practice. This role is both strategi and as required, delivery-focused. This role requires hands-on experience with Microsoft
Purview and the ability to define governance frameworks, operating models, and AI governance practices for enterprise environments.
Knowledge of metadata management, and related technologies is required.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Client Delivery (Immediate Focus)
• Lead Microsoft Purview implementation across data estates (Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid environments)
• Configure and manage data cataloging, classification, lineage, sensitivity labels, DLP, information protection policies, and data estate scanning/onboarding
• Integrate Microsoft Purview with Azure services, including Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric
• Integrate Purview with the Microsoft 365 Compliance ecosystem
• Support compliance, privacy, risk, and security initiatives, including GDPR and regulatory requirements
• Act as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft Purview across client engagements
• Data Governance Capability Development
• Design and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks
• Define data classification models, data ownership structures, stewardship models, and data lifecycle management policies
• Develop governance operating models, including RACI matrices, workflows, controls, and governance processes
• Create reusable accelerators, templates, standards, and best practices
• Support organizations in establishing governance councils and governance operating processes

AI Governance (Strategic Focus)
• Define and operationalize AI governance frameworks and Responsible AI principles, including fairness, accountability, and transparency
• Establish governance for AI model lifecycles, including development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Develop data usage policies to support AI and Generative AI initiatives
• Align governance frameworks with emerging technologies, including Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft Fabric
• Identify, assess, and mitigate AI-related risks such as bias, misuse, compliance concerns, and data exposure

Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with business, legal, compliance, risk, and IT stakeholders
• Translate regulatory, compliance, and risk requirements into practical governance solutions
• Provide thought leadership in data governance, information management, and AI governance
• Support proposals, client presentations, workshops, and advisory engagements

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data architecture, or information management
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including Data Map, Data Catalog, and Compliance capabilities
• Strong knowledge of data classification, data protection, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), sensitivity labels, and information protection
• Experience developing data lifecycle management and retention policies
• Experience working with Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake

Preferred Experience
• Experience with AI governance, Responsible AI, model governance, or model risk management
• Experience working within regulated industries, including financial services, healthcare, or public sector organizations
• Knowledge of governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, or similar methodologies
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Security and Compliance ecosystem, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Entra ID

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is 105,000-$155,000 This role is an existing vacancy.
