The Sr. Analyst must act as the single source of cost data for the program(s) under their responsibility. They must act as a trusted advisor on cost-related issues to the Program Director, Chief Vehicle Engineer, Purchasing Project Manager, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
This role must contribute to and commit to the vision of transforming the Vehicle Cost Management team as a main driver of cost performance in projects and act as supervisor, leading and providing guidance to the staff.
A Day in the Life
The responsibilities listed are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for this role. Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed, to support business objectives.
Provide leadership, guidance, support, coaching, and training to the staff and assist in developing objectives and evaluating performance.
Act as a functional advisor to NCO Senior Management and cross-functional program management, as well as coordination and information sharing with program teams in Japan.
Understand the product development lifecycle process and activities.
Develop, facilitate, and control the budget and forecast for Purchased Parts, Vendor Tooling, Logistics, and Manufacturing for Upstream Vehicle Development on key models in the Americas region from the Product Development Phase through Start of Production and Mass Production.
Manage TdC (Total Delivered Cost) of regional and global models, including Purchased Parts, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Vendor Tooling, Tariff, etc. for Upstream, Downstream, and Mass Production tracking to measure the progress of budget achievement and Cost Reduction targets by function.
Perform in-depth analysis with full vehicle and engine bill of materials to understand changing content and identify potential risks/opportunities, utilizing NCO expertise in challenging costs.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive cost reduction opportunities and challenge idea generation.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program financial conditions to all members of the PDT (Engineering, Purchasing, Program Directors (PMO), Chief Vehicle Engineers, etc.), Finance, and other key stakeholders.
Develop forecasts and business plan targets by model to ensure accurate reporting.
Who We’re Looking For
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of automotive experience in Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Finance, PMO or Vehicle Program Management including new model product development.
Strong understanding of vehicle costs by each element of Total Delivered Cost (Purchased Parts, Manufacturing, Logistics, etc.).
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI.
Ability to work on-site in Farmington Hills, MI.
Desired:
MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
Passion for business transformation, problem solving and good understanding of vehicle development process.
Strong analytical aptitude and data-driven problem-solving abilities.
Leadership and strong program management experience.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to present to executive audiences.
