Role Overview:
We are seeking qualified and eager new or recent graduates to join our Physical Sciences and Systems group in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will join a project team designing, analyzing, and prototyping innovative multi-domain system architectures. You will contribute to an environment focused on embedded software generation, testing, and research with a focus in C++, C, and Linux. Our world-class team works with a broad range of Government agencies to solve problems that are both technically challenging and have a real operational impact.
What You Will Do:
Examples of the types of challenging problems we work on include:
- Developing and implementing sophisticated detection, classification, localization, and tracking (DCLT) algorithms against state-of-the-art threats in high-noise environments
- Designing and implementing complex software to optimize sensor system performance
- Designing and implementing software for the guidance and control of autonomous vehicles
- Supporting real time evaluation of designs in realistic mission scenarios and operational analysis
- Optimizing algorithm designs for highest performance
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline (i.e., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field) and 2 years of relevant professional work experience or a master’s degree in the disciplines above
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Prior experience in software design, simulation, analysis, and implementation
- Classroom, project, or prior work experience programming in C++ or another modern object-oriented language in the Linux development environment
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash
- Experience with Linux development tools such as git, Valgrind, and gdb
- Exposure to development libraries like Google FlatBuffers, Armadillo, and REST API
- Experience with multithreaded applications, inter-process communication, and resource sharing
- Exposure to working with systems with real-time processing requirements

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
