Full Job Description
Amazon internships are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work onsite Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week for 12 consecutive weeks typically between 8am-5pm.

Are you a motivated technologist with a unique blend of curiosity, technical chops, and strong interpersonal skills? Do you want to help us build new things and evangelize AWS with customers? Do you enjoy being a guiding force, enabling customers to use best practices and design their applications and platforms for the cloud? As a Solutions Architect Intern, you will receive AWS technical training, immerse yourself in cloud computing concepts, and have the opportunity to impact customers in a variety of industries.

The Solutions Architect (SA) organization is a diverse team that focuses on helping customers build infrastructures and applications at scale using AWS solutions. We are passionate about technology and relish the chances to dive deep and wide within the AWS platform in our quest to delight customers.

Program Overview:

Our program offers a 3-month mentorship where you will:

- Learn how to architect solutions on the AWS Cloud

- Develop skills to lead customer engagements as a Solutions Architect

- Work alongside experienced professionals who will guide your development

Location Details: Dallas, TX or Seattle, WA

Start Date details: This is a cohort-based program where everyone is required to start on the same day. Start dates are tentatively set to occur June 21st and May 24th.

Key job responsibilities
• Create solutions that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services
• Interface with internal and external customers, including developers and team leads
• Gather effective feedback from customers, distill and translate feedback into clear business and technical requirements for product and engineering teams

A day in the life

As part of your internship, you may:

- Engage directly on actual business challenges

- Gain hands-on experience building on the AWS cloud

- Apply AWS services and architectural best practices in real-world scenarios

- Develop technical and business acumen through working backwards from actual customer problems

- Work with mentors to build and implement solutions for actual business needs

- Prepare for a role advising AWS's most strategic and influential customers through practical experience

About the team

The Emerging Talent team within AWS Industries and Strategic Accounts develops the next generation of field-ready talent (Solutions Architects, Customer Solutions Managers, and sales professionals) who work with some of the largest, most influential customers across a variety of industries. We take a cohort-based approach to talent development and provide new builders the resources (education, mentorship, job shadow opportunities) to thrive in a customer-facing role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12 week internship maximum

- Experience using strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Experience with one or more of the following domains: analytics, security, storage, DevOps, application development, or machine learning

- Are 18 years of age or older

- Currently enrolled in a bachelors or greater degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical fields with a graduation date between December 2027 and September 2028

- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Python, Node.js, C#, or C++

- Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning (ML), etc

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- AWS certification

- Experience communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences

- Experience applying established frameworks and design patterns to deliver working software through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or previous internships
