Role Summary:
The Software Engineer - Telemetry will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Clarapath's telemetry and data acquisition systems for SectionStar™, our advanced electro-mechanical device. This role requires a strong software engineering foundation with experience in data pipelines, real-time system monitoring, and telemetry frameworks. Working closely with cross-functional teams-including firmware, systems, and mechanical engineering-this individual will build reliable, scalable solutions that enable device performance tracking, diagnostics, and predictive insights. We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment and is eager to apply software engineering best practices to complex, data-driven challenges.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain internal software tools to organize, search, and analyze telemetry data from machines in the field
Build scalable data pipelines to process raw and semi-structured device data stored in cloud environments
Develop automated filters, alerts, and reporting tools for device errors and system health monitoring
Create tools to summarize error trends across time and across fleets of deployed systems
Implement systems for organizing images and image metadata (ex: QC scores, decision modes, cut depth, session data)
Develop simple UI/UX applications to enable fast, intuitive searching and filtering of telemetry data for engineering, service, and analytics use cases
Support data organization for downstream AI training and analytics initiatives
Collaborate closely with firmware, systems, mechanical, service, and QA teams to define telemetry requirements and data use cases
Work alongside other engineers focused on data transmission and infrastructure to ensure seamless end-to-end telemetry workflows
Gather user requirements from internal stakeholders and iterate quickly through prototypes, demos, and feedback cycles
Implement data validation, error handling, and monitoring to ensure platform reliability
Contribute to documentation, testing, and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
Support ongoing product releases, field deployments, and platform evolution
