About the job
The App Basics team is a core part of Google Messages, responsible for delivering a seamless and engaging messaging experience to over 1 billion monthly active users. The team is responsible for key user journeys within Google Messages, including composing and reading messages, replying, sharing rich media, expressive features and ML-powered experiences.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) 15% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Contribute high quality code and work with other engineers to build polished, highly performant Android app experiences.
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Management/User Experience (PM/UX) to build new, delightful consumer features.
