Job DescriptionThis position will be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance of best in class software experiences. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with a team and across the organization. The candidate takes responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern, scalable web applications using React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and industry-standard frontend development practices.
- Build highly responsive and accessible user interfaces utilizing HTML5, CSS3, CSS Grid, Responsive Design, and cross-browser compatibility standards.
- Architect and develop complex Single Page Applications (SPA) and Progressive Web Applications (PWA) that deliver exceptional user experiences across devices.
- Implement and manage application state using modern frameworks and libraries such as Redux Toolkit, React Query, Context API, and Zustand.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, GraphQL services, and enterprise backend platforms to enable secure and reliable data exchange.
- Optimize application performance through code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, bundle optimization, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
- Partner closely with Product, UX, QA, and backend engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
- Support CI/CD automation, frontend security initiatives, and cloud-native deployments while contributing to reusable component libraries, design systems, and modern frontend architecture standards.
Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of relevant experience
Required Skills & Qualifications- Strong hands-on expertise with React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frontend development frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Web Design, CSS Grid, and cross-browser compatibility best practices.
- Experience with frontend state management solutions including Redux Toolkit, React Query, Context API, and Zustand.
- Proficiency with Node.js, NPM/Yarn, Vite, Webpack, Babel, and modern frontend build and package management tools.
- Experience consuming and integrating REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and working with JSON, XML, and web service protocols.
- Strong knowledge of frontend testing practices utilizing Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
- Understanding of modern authentication, authorization, and security standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, SSO, XSS, CSRF, and CSP.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes), accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA), design systems (Material UI, Ant Design, Bootstrap), and modern architecture patterns such as Micro Frontends and Component-Driven Development.
Location expectationsThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $105,400.00 - $124,000.00
