The role:

Join the Meridian OneCap Technology Team and play a key role in designing, developing, integrating, and supporting the technology solutions that power our business. As a Software Developer, you will collaborate with business analysts, quality assurance specialists, infrastructure teams, and fellow developers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing applications that support Meridian OneCap's digital transformation initiatives.

In this role, you will design and develop web-based, cloud-based, and data-driven applications, build and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations, and implement both custom-built and third-party software solutions. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including solution architecture, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and ongoing application support. The role also involves enhancing business process automation platforms, optimizing application performance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements.

You will participate in cross-functional projects, provide technical expertise during project planning and delivery, and help establish development and integration standards that promote consistency, scalability, and quality across the technology landscape. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a passion for innovation, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing applications using .NET Core, RESTful APIs, Angular, relational databases, and modern software development methodologies. Experience with cloud technologies, systems integration, automation platforms, and financial services solutions is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complex Technical Tasks:
    • Design and architect software solutions, considering scalability and performance.
    • Write clean, maintainable code for web-based, cloud-based, and multidimensional data applications.
    • Conduct unit testing to ensure software quality.
    • Thoroughly document your work, including code comments and user manuals.
  • Integration Standards:
    • Contribute to the ongoing development and documentation of programming and system integration standards.
    • Collaborate with other developers to ensure consistent practices.
    • Integrate third-party software seamlessly into existing applications and infrastructure.
  • Application Components:
    • Design and implement complex features within applications.
    • Maintain existing components, addressing bugs and enhancements.
    • Optimize performance and resource utilization.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Project Collaboration:
    • Provide input on project deliverables, including time estimates and cost assessments.
    • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
    • Participate in project planning and sprint reviews.

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Designations/Certifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of application development experience in corporate environment
  • Degree or diploma in computer science or related field with emphasis on Web development
  • A strong knowledge of software development processes, analysis, design, tools and techniques
  • Experience with relational database systems
  • Experience building RESTful APIs using .NET Core for building connected, service-oriented
    applications
  • Experience in building frontend application using Angular and SASS
  • A strong understanding of financial tools and the banking sector is a definite asset
  • Knowledge of SOA and n-Tier architecture
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform: Power Apps (Canvas & Model-driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Pages; strong Power FX.
  • Ability to design secure, scalable Dataverse data models with RBAC, auditing, and DLP guardrails.
  • Hands-on Azure integration (Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, Key Vault) and REST/Graph APIs.


This role represents an existing vacancy. Internal candidates are being considered as part of our standard process.

Salary Range: CAD $68,800 to $103,200 annually.

Compensation for this role is based on a combination of skills, experience, and internal equity. Candidates with stronger alignment to the role's requirements may be placed higher within the range. Your recruiter will share more information about our total rewards package during the hiring process.

Office Location: Toronto Corporate Office. This is a hybrid opportunity.
