About the role:We are looking for a highly motivated professional to join our wireless communications team on mission-critical Search & Rescue (S&R) solutions. This position focuses on the development, maintenance, and evolution of customized LTE/5G NR NodeB (eNodeB/gNodeB) protocol stack software, along with research and prototyping work.
What you'll do:- Design, develop, and support LTE/5G NR air interface protocol stack components, including Layer 1 Control, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC & NAS;
- Work with customers, product management, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver strong solutions;
- Contribute to software design, implementation, testing, integration, and release efforts;
- Review software architecture, spot opportunities for improvement, and lead performance and reliability enhancements;
- Carry out root cause analysis and resolve issues raised by customers, field deployments, and verification teams;
- Build Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), prototypes, and technology demonstrators for new wireless features and concepts;
- Assess emerging 3GPP features and wireless technologies through feasibility studies and technical investigations;
- Prepare and maintain design, interface, and technical documentation;
- Coach team members and help advance engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field;
- 8-10 years of experience in LTE and/or 5G NR protocol stack development;
- Strong expertise in one or more areas of LTE/NR Layer 1 Control, MAC, PDCP, RLC, RRC, NAS layers;
- Solid understanding of LTE and 5G NR 3GPP specifications and signalling procedures;
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ on Linux, RTOS, or embedded platforms;
- Experience with IPC mechanisms, multi-threading, debugging, and performance optimization;
- Strong design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;
- Knowledge of Agile development, version control systems, testing methodologies, and software release processes;
- Ability to get security clearance.
Assets:- Knowledge of LTE/NR PHY, UMTS, or GSM Access Stratum protocols;
- Experience with R&D projects, technology evaluation, and PoC development;
- Exposure to system integration, performance analysis, and carrier-grade wireless systems;
- Strong analytical and communication skills;
- Self-driven, innovative, and passionate about wireless technologies;
- Ability to work independently and effectively within cross-functional teams.
