Job Summary
Reports to an assigned Licensed Certified Social Worker. Assesses client needs and provides counseling or referrals to appropriate community service agencies. May be assigned to a specific clinical specialty and contribute to the development of new social work services and improvements in health care delivery systems.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate the needs and problems of clients and hospital or clinic patients
Interview clients, hospital patients, or clinic patients to obtain information
Provide counseling to patients and families
Consult with other professionals regarding client recovery, welfare, or rehabilitation
Initiate and complete timely discharge planning
Provide information and referral services
Participate in conferences, meetings, and staff development sessions
Maintain required records and statistics
Contribute to research projects and community meetings aimed at improving health care services
Perform related duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of social work theories, principles, and concepts acquired through a master's degree in social work and less than six months of experience
Current state licensure as an LMSW
Ability to analyze and resolve basic problems using scientific, mathematical, or technical principles
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to demonstrate empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
Salary Range: Minimum 32.40/hour - Maximum 53.48/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
