About the Role
We are seeking a SOC Analyst to serve as a Tier 2 escalation point within our Security Operations Center. You will investigate and respond to security alerts escalated by our managed detection and response (MDR) partner, handle incidents from triage through closure, and help mature our detection and response processes.
Responsibilities
• Investigate and respond to alerts escalated from our MDR partner
• Perform incident triage, scoping, containment, and documentation
• Analyze activity across endpoint, SIEM, email, identity, and network telemetry
• Tune detections to reduce false positives
• Write and maintain runbooks and investigation procedures
• Participate in tabletop exercises and post-incident reviews
Required Qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience in security operations or incident response
• Hands-on experience with an enterprise EDR platform and a SIEM
• Working knowledge of Windows, Active Directory/Entra ID, and common attack techniques
• Experience with phishing analysis and email authentication (SPF, DKIM,DMARC)
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, proxies)
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to controlled and export-restricted information
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with CrowdStrike, Google SecOps, Microsoft Defender, or similar tools
• Experience working alongside an MDR provider
• Familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or DFARS environments
• Scripting experience in Python or PowerShell
• Certifications such as GCIH, CySA+, BTL1, or Security+
Salary Range
The Salary Range for this position is $63,000 - $104,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
