The Role:
As a Site Utility Manager, you will be responsible for supporting safe, compliant, and efficient facility operations through the effective execution of GM Workplace Safety System processes, including Safety Contractor Management, Working at Heights, Management of Change, and Emergency Response. This position contributes to Business Plan Deployment (BPD) across Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment while sustaining Global Manufacturing System (GMS) BIQ4 performance. The individual applies strong business acumen to facility operations, supporting staffing decisions, contract administration, risk management, and business continuity needs. This role ensures alignment with environmental requirements and initiatives and is accountable for timely, accurate financial reporting, spending forecasts, and the administration of orders and contracts. The position provides direction to thirdparty contract vendors to support plant operations and works directly with all aspects of plant utilities, including compressed air, chilled water, wastewater treatment equipment, HVAC systems, and other critical

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Supports all relevant and associated GM Workplace Safety System processes [Safety Contractor Management, Working at Heights, Management of Change, Emergency Response]
  • Support Business Plan Deployment (BPD) in facility operations [Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, Environment]
  • Support sustaining Global Manufacturing System (GMS) BIQ4 status
  • Apply business acumen to facility operations [staffing, contracts, risk management, business continuity]
  • Support environmental requirements and initiatives.
  • Timely and accurate financial reporting, order/contract administration and spending forecasting.
  • Provide direction to 3rd party contract vendors to support plant operations
  • Works directly with all aspects of plant utilities to include:
  • Compressed air
  • Chilled water
  • Waste water treatment equipment
  • HVAC and Hot Water

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in site utilities and/or facilities engineering
  • Experience in equipment repair and maintenance
  • Experience with Maximo maintenance database, SAP/Ariba purchasing system, timekeeping systems (Kronos/UKG Pro)
  • Experience with Building Management Systems
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required
  • Ability to lead focused teams in complex situations
