About The Role
Peraton is seeking a self-driven and resourceful Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic of Network and UC engineers in Washington, DC. This position combines software engineering and systems administration disciplines to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of mission-critical applications and infrastructure. The SRE will drive automation initiatives, observability improvements, and incident response operations.
Site Reliability Engineer responsibilities:
- Design and implement automation solutions for infrastructure and application management.
- Drive modernization efforts by engineering and implementing infrastructure improvements, automation capabilities, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Develop and maintain monitoring and observability platforms.
- Define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs).
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and configuration management solutions.
- Optimize system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with software development, operations, and security teams.
- Support cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology (or similar technical field) and eight (8+) years relevant experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 7+ years of software engineering, DevOps, or operations experience.
- Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
- CISSP or CASP+
- DoD 8140/8570 Compliant.
- Strong Linux administration experience.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies and automation frameworks.

Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
