Single-Family Software Developer Analyst

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Position Overview:

The Single-Family Business Technology Office (BTO) within Freddie Mac is searching for driven individuals to join our organization to help us deliver solutions to the business. BTO is building a world class technology platform to meet customer needs, manage technology risk leveraging emerging technologies, and modernize cloud capabilities to provide reduced delivery cycle time and increased resiliency.

Freddie Mac is a dynamic environment with constant change that enables Software Developers to grow through a wide variety of experiences and responsibilities. Our Single-Family College Analyst Cohort program is crafted to ease the transition of college into the workforce by providing skills training and mentorship programs, as well as in-class learning opportunities with senior leadership.

This role increasingly supports business intelligence, data interpretation, visualization, and reporting capabilities that help internal and external stakeholders make data-driven decisions. Candidates should be interested in understanding both technology solutions and the business value those solutions deliver.

Our Impact:
  • Understand business needs and processes; identify solutions and work with project teams and sponsors in identifying the best solution.
  • Support business intelligence capabilities by transforming data into dashboards, reports, and actionable insights for business users, sellers, and servicers.
  • Leverage visualization and commercial reporting tools, including platforms such as Tableau and similar technologies, to communicate analytical results.

Your Impact:
  • Collaborate with team members on new development and bug resolution.
  • Develop and analyze code for assigned sprint work.
  • Participate in technical training, boot camps, hackathons, and new-hire education.
  • Translate data into meaningful visualizations, dashboards, and reports that support business decision-making.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the business purpose behind technical solutions and communicate that value to stakeholders.
  • Apply AI-enabled tools responsibly while validating outputs for accuracy and relevance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer Engineering or related software development experience and coursework.
  • Graduating in December 2026 or May 2027 with availability to begin full time employment in January 2027 or June 2027.
  • College-level experience with coding practices and languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, Angular/Springboot, or others.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies preferred.
  • Experience with popular business tools (Windows, Office Professional, Visio, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Exposure to business intelligence, reporting, analytics, Tableau, or other data visualization platforms is preferred but not required.

Freddie Mac offers a comprehensive total rewards package to include competitive compensation and market-leading benefit programs. Information on these benefit programs is available on our Careers site.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $77,000 - $115,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
