WORK SHIFT:
Third Shift (United States of America)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the management and coordination of all personnel activities assigned in the manufacturing area in the Composites plant. The Shift Manager reviews the schedule daily and formulates a plan to complete the schedule within the planned timeframe. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring, directing, motivating, and reporting safety and quality aspects of the manufacturing work areas and the general work area using the Manufacturing Operating System (M.O.S.) guidelines. This position will report to the Plant Manager and will aid in the execution of Plant Manager's duties in areas including, but not limited to, documentation, capacity and budget planning, training, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provides clear and concise assignment of work to employees, (planned quantities based upon standards).
  • Complete the duties of a Shift Manager specified by Cambro's operating structure, including but not limited to reporting, process review, shift performance review, employee appraisal reviews, Management Operating System (MOS) procedures, disciplinary corrective action, training, timely following ups, time studies, continuous improvement processes, 5S housekeeping, developing targets and goals, understanding and upholding plant KPI's, and daily management duties.
  • Performs follow-up and resolution of all plan variances during and post-shift.
  • Review the previous day's results (safety, quality, productivity) with production employees at the start of the shift and give direction regarding the day's goals and priorities.
  • Ensures daily Prism transactions required for recording, tracking, and transfer of production are executed. Reviews off-shift transfers for exceptions and performs all transactions required. Trains employees on all system transactions.
  • Monitors and ensures all employees are working safely and following all safety regulations.
  • Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
  • Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Communicates, written and oral instructions effectively and clearly
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area. Will work with other shifts to resolve housekeeping issues.
  • Conducts internal safety audits regularly
  • Assists other departments by communicating issues/concerns
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual and dependable, in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate Cambro company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team
  • Other duties as needed or required.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's degree from a two- or four-year college; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to work with math concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge of Prism, Intermec, AS400 system

Manager Operations

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$45.62-$49.50

Salary may vary based on experience.
