Full Job Description

The Servicing Transfer Manager is responsible for leading Selene's servicing transfer coordination function and ensuring the successful onboarding of mortgage servicing portfolios from prior servicers onto the Selene platform. This role oversees Servicing Transfer Coordinators and may also manage Analysts responsible for transfer-related data review and validation activities.

The Manager is accountable for the end-to-end coordination of incoming servicing transfers, including transfer planning, servicing transfer instructions (STIs), borrower communication requirements, data validation, pre-boarding quality control, stakeholder management, and operational execution through loan boarding. This position serves as a key liaison between internal business partners, clients, prior servicers, and transfer-related vendors to ensure smooth, compliant, and accurate transfer execution.

The ideal candidate brings strong mortgage servicing transfer experience, leadership capability, and a deep understanding of loan boarding processes, servicing data analysis, and transfer operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of Servicing Transfer Coordinators and potentially Analysts responsible for servicing transfer execution, data review, and onboarding support.
  • Direct the end-to-end coordination of incoming servicing transfers, including portfolio acquisitions, boardings, re-boards, servicing releases, and related transfer activities.
  • Oversee the analysis and validation of incoming servicing data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and readiness for loan boarding.
  • Ensure all required transfer documentation, data files, and servicing transfer instructions (STIs) are reviewed, reconciled, and executed according to established timelines.
  • Manage borrower communication requirements associated with servicing transfers, including goodbye letters and other regulatory notices.
  • Coordinate transfer activities with prior servicers, clients, internal business units, vendors, and operational stakeholders.
  • Monitor transfer milestones, project timelines, dependencies, and deliverables to ensure successful execution and risk mitigation.
  • Conduct portfolio reconciliations and data quality reviews before and after boarding activities.
  • Ensure compliance with CFPB servicing transfer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Investigate, escalate, and resolve servicing transfer issues, exceptions, data discrepancies, and operational risks.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance departmental policies, procedures, controls, task lists, questionnaires, and operational documentation.
  • Partner with leadership to identify process improvements, operational efficiencies, and automation opportunities within servicing transfer operations.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), service levels, and quality standards for the servicing transfer team.
  • Collaborate with Client Management teams regarding portfolios scheduled to transfer onto the platform and provide ongoing transfer status updates.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development for assigned staff.
  • Support larger strategic initiatives while ensuring successful day-to-day servicing transfer operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of mortgage servicing experience with significant exposure to servicing transfers, loan boarding, or transfer operations.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing operational teams.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating incoming servicing transfers from prior servicers through boarding and post-transfer validation.
  • Strong understanding of servicing transfer instructions (STIs), transfer documentation requirements, regulatory communications, and onboarding processes.
  • Experience analyzing large servicing data files and validating transfer data for boarding readiness.
  • Knowledge of loan boarding processes, portfolio reconciliations, and servicing data integrity controls.
  • Experience working directly with clients, prior servicers, vendors, and cross-functional operational teams.
  • Strong project coordination and operational management skills.
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, controls, and process documentation.
  • Advanced problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading transfer coordinators, onboarding specialists, data mapping teams, or servicing transfer analysts.
  • Experience managing large-scale servicing portfolio acquisitions or transfers.
  • Knowledge of MSP and mortgage servicing system conversions.
  • Strong understanding of CFPB servicing transfer requirements and industry best practices.
  • Experience driving process improvement, workflow optimization, and operational change initiatives.
