Location: Alpharetta, Dallas

We are seeking a motivated Staff Workflow Platform Engineer to help build, test and support enterprise workflow, orchestration and intelligent automation solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to workflow services, API integrations, platform components, testing and operational support while developing deeper expertise in modern automation technologies.

This junior developer role is ideal for candidates who possess experience or practical exposure to at least one programming language, workflow platform, BPM technology, orchestration engine or low-code platform and are interested in learning across a broader ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Workflow & Platform Engineering
  • Develop and enhance workflow services, workers, APIs, connectors and reusable platform components under team guidance.
  • Implement assigned user stories using established architecture, coding standards and delivery practices.
  • Configure BPMN processes, forms, business rules, human tasks and integration points.
  • Support workflow deployment, versioning, monitoring and technical documentation activities.
  • Contribute to automation solutions that use case management, business rules or event-driven workflows.


Integration & Automation
  • Build and test integrations with enterprise applications, APIs, messaging systems and cloud services.
  • Apply REST API, JSON and basic event-driven integration patterns.
  • Assist with reusable connectors and integration components for multiple business solutions.
  • Support intelligent automation capabilities involving AI services, document processing or automation platforms.


Cloud & Engineering Excellence
  • Write maintainable code, unit tests and supporting technical documentation.
  • Participate in code reviews, Agile ceremonies and team knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Support CI/CD, deployment, debugging and defect resolution activities.
  • Follow enterprise standards for security, quality, compliance and operational support.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1-3 years of software development, integration, application configuration or automation experience.
  • Experience with at least one programming language or workflow/low-code platform.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, databases, Git and software development lifecycle practices.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively in an Agile team environment.


Workflow & Automation Platform Experience

Candidates should possess experience, academic exposure, certification, internship or project work with at least one platform from either of the two categories listed below.

Open BPM & Orchestration Platforms
  • Camunda 7 / Camunda 8, Flowable, Fluxnova or Temporal.


Low-Code Platforms
  • Pega Infinity, Appian, Microsoft Power Platform, ServiceNow Workflow Automation or IBM Business Automation Workflow.


Business Process & Workflow Knowledge - Preferred
  • BPMN 2.0 fundamentals.
  • Human Task Management and approval workflows.
  • Basic Case Management and Business Rules concepts.
  • Workflow deployment, versioning and monitoring awareness.
  • Event-driven processing or messaging fundamentals.


Software Engineering Skills

Programming Languages - experience with at least one
  • Java, preferably with Spring or Spring Boot exposure.
  • Python.
  • JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Node.js.


Integration Technologies
  • REST APIs.
  • JSON and XML.
  • Basic OpenAPI awareness.
  • Basic Event-Driven Architecture concepts.


Messaging & Event Streaming - exposure to at least one preferred
  • Apache Kafka, Confluent Platform, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ or Azure Event Hubs.


Cloud, DevOps & Infrastructure

Exposure to at least one cloud-native platform or development ecosystem is preferred:
  • Kubernetes, OpenShift or Docker.
  • Terraform, Helm or ArgoCD.
  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.


Data Technologies

Experience or academic exposure to at least one of the following:
  • PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, Redis or Cassandra.


AI & Intelligent Automation - Preferred
  • Azure OpenAI or AWS Bedrock awareness.
  • LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or Semantic Kernel exposure.
  • Model Context Protocol (MCP) awareness.
  • UiPath or Automation Anywhere exposure.
  • Intelligent Document Processing or OCR concepts.


Preferred Industry Experience
  • Banking, Financial Services or Capital Markets.
  • Insurance or Healthcare.
  • Public Sector or other highly regulated industries.


What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Internship, coursework, certification or project experience with workflow or low-code platforms.
  • Experience developing reusable APIs, workflow components or connectors.
  • Exposure to cloud-native or multi-tenant application concepts.

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
    • New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices - $66,600 to $123,200
    • Bay Area California offices - $69,300 to $128,500
    • All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $55,400 to $113,000
  • Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
