Dewberry is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer/ Project Manager for our Atlanta, GA office—an excellent opportunity to join a top ENR-ranked transportation design firm and take the next step in your career. This position offers a hybrid schedule. 

 

Our team is in growth mode, and we're looking for an experienced roadway design engineer/project manager ready to help expand and strengthen our transportation design practice in Atlanta and the surrounding areas. In this position, you’ll collaborate with a talented team and an experienced Georgia Transportation Leader to drive the expansion of our transportation design practice in Georgia, backed by the resources of a national transportation network.

 

You’ll lead impactful projects with municipalities and GDOT while helping shape the future of our practice. If you’re looking for an opportunity to grow, contribute, and be part of a team that’s building something exceptional, this is the role for you.

 

Responsibilities
  • Managing transportation design projects for GDOT and municipalities.
  • Overseeing plans, specifications, and bid package development.
  • Coordination with other design professionals and disciplines.
  • Supervising engineering and production staff.
  • Training entry-level engineers.
  • Monitoring budgets, schedules, and quality.
  • Preparing invoices and progress reports.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Assisting the marketing staff with proposal preparation.
  • Representing the firm at networking events.
  • Interfacing with clients through project meetings, pursuit meetings, and professional society involvement.
  • Collaborating with other Dewberry offices on design and design-build projects.
  • Exercising ethical decision-making and adhering to the Dewberry Code of Conduct.
  • Upholding workplace safety and abiding by Dewberry’s health and safety, and harassment policies.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Master's in Transportation preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive transportation design experience.
  • Georgia PE license.
  • Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
  • Georgia DOT project management experience following their Plan Development Process.
  • GDOT Plan Development Process certification.
  • Energetic with ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
